We woke up today and had breakfast with all the beautiful people staying at our guest house. The lovely young couple from Sweden were fabulous! They gave me a bunch of tips for my trip to Stockholm next month. We also really enjoyed getting to know the German/Austrian couple. I really hope to meet up with them in life again.
After breaKfast we headed out for our 3.5 hour drive to La Fortuna. I thought the roads into Monteverde were bad. The roads out were scary. Huge holes in the rocky road would appear out of no where. It was like a 2 hour Indiana Jones ride. Once we started driving around Lake Arenal the scenery was beautiful. It was bright and tropical.
After we checked into our cute little hostel we booked a package to the hot springs. For $45 each we went to Baldi Hot Springs. A beautiful hot springs with 27 different pools, water slides, natural steam rooms, and man made waterfalls. Our package also included a nice dinner buffet.
At dinner we met a lot of lovely people and ran into the couple we had met the day before zip lining. After dinner we went back into the hot springs for a bit before heading back to our hostel.
Our cold had gotten worse at this point so we went to the market and got the Costa Rican version of NyQuil.
We took it and went straight to sleep.
