We woke super early to catch the train to Florence today. It was a fast comfortable ride from city center to city center. All of Florence is within walking distance from the train station. So we walked to the Academia stopping to purchase our Dumo tickets along the way.

The Academia is really small and you are basically paying €16.50 per person to see David. We did the Rick Steve’s audio guide and learned about a few other works of art in the museum also.

We then got in a hour line for the Dome of the Cathedral. Then once you get in, its another hour line to walk up to the top. The close up of the ceiling is beautiful. Along with the view from the top!

Your ticket also includes going to the top of the tower, the baptismal, and the museum. All are amazing and worth your time.

We then do Rick Steve’s audio tour of Florence. Taking us from the Cathedral to the Uffizi.

We then do Rick’s audio tour of the museum. We took his advice and took a nice break at the museum terrace cafe. It was a beautiful day and I enjoyed a cocktail. Afterwards we continued through the museum.

After the museum we walked around Florence. We had a traditional Lampredotto, tripe, sandwich. We rubbed the snout of a boar to guarantee our return to Florence. And we ended our day at McCafe. An upscale McDonalds with free wifi!
