Jerusalem Day 5

Happy Easter!

We woke up super early to walk to the Garden Tomb for Easter Sunrise Service. Apparently not early enough as we had a side, back corner seat. The garden is beautiful and the worship was delightful. The sermon was a tad bit generic and could have been read from a little book for children titled, “What is Easter?”. Nothing significant about the location or the land we were in, I was a little disappointed.

After the service we walked back to our Hostel for breakfast. Then we drove out to the Holocaust Museum. It was huge and covered so much more information than the one in D.C. We didn’t realize it was so far away in traffic. So we had to rush to the City of David for our 2:00pm tour. We really enjoyed this tour about David’s original city of Jerusalem before any Temple was ever built. The best part were the underground water system that we got to walk through and the story behind it. A must do in Jerusalem.

We then went to the Market for dinner. After dinner we went back to the hostel to change and rest before having to drive to the airport at 12:30 am for our 5:30am flight. It was much needed time as security is tight there!
